Dubai Unveils SARAAB AI Model: The Dubai Electronic Security Centre (DESC) has unveiled three new cybersecurity initiatives at GISEC Global 2026, including SARAAB, an artificial intelligence model designed to detect deepfake videos.
The initiatives were announced on 16 September 2026 at the Dubai Exhibition Centre, Expo City Dubai.
SARAAB AI Model for Deepfake Detection
SARAAB is an open-source AI model developed entirely by an Emirati team at DESC to detect deepfake videos.
According to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), it is the first model of its kind developed by a government entity in the Arab region.
DESC plans to make SARAAB available through developer platforms, allowing AI engineers, cybersecurity experts and researchers to test the model, build on it and contribute to its development.

DESC has also launched the Dubai Cyber Skills Framework.

It is intended for cybersecurity professionals, employers, academic institutions and training providers. The framework provides a common method for measuring and developing cybersecurity skills in line with internationally recognised standards.
ISR Auditor Certification Programme
The third initiative is the ISR Auditor Certification Programme.
It is designed for auditors and information security professionals who assess compliance with Dubai's Information Security Regulation (ISR).
The programme establishes a consistent methodology and clearly defined standards for auditing and evidence assessment.

The event runs from 16 to 18 September 2026.
