Dubai Bus on Demand Areas 2026: Dubai’s Bus on Demand service has expanded to more areas in 2026, giving residents and visitors another option for short-distance travel. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) added Al Satwa, Al Quoz and Mirdif, taking the service to 20 areas across Dubai.

The service works through a smart app, allowing passengers to check bus availability, book a ride and see the estimated arrival and travel time.

According to RTA, the service currently covers these 20 areas:

  1. Al Barsha 1, 2 and 3

  2. Al Nahda

  3. Dubai Silicon Oasis

  4. Academic City

  5. Business Bay

  6. Al Rigga

  7. Port Saeed

  8. Downtown

  9. Al Karama

  10. Oud Metha

  11. Barsha Heights

  12. DIFC

  13. Al Mankhool

  14. Al Qusais

  15. Al Warqa

  16. Jumeirah Village Circle (JVC)

  17. Dubai Investment Park (DIP)

  18. Al Satwa

  19. Al Quoz

  20. Mirdif

Al Satwa, Al Quoz and Mirdif are the three areas added in the latest expansion announced by RTA in August 2026.

How Does Dubai Bus on Demand Work?

Bus on Demand is a shared transport service. Passengers use the Dubai Bus on Demand app to request a journey within the areas covered by the service.

After registering, users can check the bus location, available seats, estimated arrival time and estimated travel time before making a booking.

Passengers can book individually or make a booking for a group. RTA allows bookings for up to six people in one ride.

Dubai Bus on Demand Fare

RTA lists the following fares:

  • AED 5 per passenger per trip

  • AED 4 for each additional passenger in the same booking

  • AED 7 per passenger for an interzone trip

  • AED 2 in Business Bay, following the fare reduction introduced in December 2024

The Bus on Demand fare is paid separately from Dubai Metro and regular Dubai Bus trips.

Booking the service is done through the Dubai Bus on Demand smart application.

Steps to book

  1. Download the Dubai Bus on Demand app.

  2. Register for the service.

  3. Enter the required information.

  4. Add your payment details.

  5. Activate the application.

  6. Check the bus location and seat availability.

  7. Check the estimated arrival and travel time.

  8. Book your journey.

  9. Board the bus.

  10. Complete the payment using an available payment method.

Passengers can pay through a credit or debit card, a nol card, or ride credits purchased through the app.

Who Can Use the Service?

RTA lists citizens, residents and visitors as eligible users. There are no additional service requirements listed by RTA.

The service is available for journeys within the applicable zones and interzones. RTA also advises passengers to check the smart application because the areas currently being operated are displayed there.

Bus on Demand Usage Increased in 2026

The service has seen increased use during 2026. RTA reported 527,000 riders during the first half of 2026, representing a 25.1% increase compared with the same period in 2025.

June 2026 recorded 105,990 riders, the highest monthly ridership reported during the first half of the year. RTA also increased the fleet to 55 buses.

The expansion is part of RTA’s efforts to provide flexible transport options and improve first- and last-mile connections with public transport.

Dubai Bus on Demand now covers 20 areas, following the addition of Al Satwa, Al Quoz and Mirdif. The service offers app-based booking, multiple payment options and fares starting from AED 5 for a standard trip.

Because RTA states that the currently operating areas are shown in the app, passengers should check the application before booking to confirm that their required journey is available.
